Review of 2 day Down

Title:2 Days Down

Author: Dr. Nikita Lalwani

Blurb:

2-day-down is a compilation of stories of 5 women from different walks of life. Each story digs into one of the five period related problems: Pain/Staining/Sexual Inhibition/PMS/Taboo, through each one's journey. The title signifies the second day of a woman's period, which is said to be the toughest of the five days. The stories are a reflection of the less acknowledged society around us. Through menstrual problems as a window, the book is an attempt to bring light to the intriguing yet briefly understood aspects of womanhood in different age groups.

My View :

Writing on women is quite a new topic these days to write on. As this being one of the hottest topics, chances are reader would get to meet the same content again and again. When I picked this book several questions were there in my mind about the content this book holds. Do find out how it answered my questions.

It was easy to mingle with her writing style. The choice of words was appropriate and she very wisely knots the words and presents the story as a whole. The lined-up events were arranged smartly and one can walk through those nodes of the life of the protagonists with great ease. Though short of words she conveyed her point with great enthusiasm.

There are some events which were unnecessary made a part of the story. Those events reminded of the negatives of the book. But just the small ones here and there. Overall, I liked the way how she handled the stories and played wisely with the words.

The twists and fun elements present in all of the stories were like the suspense or confusion - not about the plot, but it was about where's the element that the title is speaking of. Only at the very end of the stories, you would found the element which was pretty nicely handled, and gave a good touch to the story.

I liked it when ends are more flavorful and twisting. They acted as a catalyst in my reading journey and forced me to read more and more. Here, end of the stories acted in the same way, and made me go over all the stories in a single sit. There were some minor typo-errors here and there which was quite noticeable.

I would consider this in the shelve of 'quick and easy read'.
