Book Review: Poetry for Everyone(||) by Diwakar Pokhriyal

This book really left me dumbstruck. I mean, how could someone describe 25 different forms of poetry in a single book with utmost ease. The way, poet has played with the words, it surprises me. It is simply marvelous.

In the beginning, the poet writes-"New ideas come with preparations and continuous learning. You have to start with A,while going through apple,to learn anesthetic. These three stages, namely, A,apple and anesthetic, will depend on your willingness and determination to learn." This book,in the same way, teaches different forms of poetry, in the beginning starting with A,then going to apple and ending at anesthetic. Before reading this book, I actually had no idea what poetry forms like -Glosa, Echo verse, Cinquain butterfly poetry,Kerf poetry, and many more to add on,meant. This book teaches the basic ABCs of poetry. Starting from the grassroot level,it takes you to a place, where you can also say-Yes,I can also write poetry now. I think, this makes the poet successful. This book can transform anyone into a poet, depending upon the willingness and determination to learn.

'Award,
Is not my aim,
My aim is to live free,
Into my passionate writing,
With time,
Tickling ever and forever,
And my benign soul drowned,
In cosmic sea,
Of love'  -(pg 55)

'The best sacrifice that you can do here,
Without transforming anyone,
Without spending the money,
Without wasting your time,
Without scrutiny,
Without pain,is,
Sacrifice,
For them,
All.'  -(pg 87)

The creativity, of using proper words, is outstanding. This can be clearly understood by reading 'Alphabet Fever Poetry'.When I started reading them all, it was too fun.It also made me doubt my knowledge of so many words. This book will not only make you learn and write poetry, but also make you live poetry. Poetry is fun, read this book, you will realize. This book is a must read.

My Rating- 4/5
