Dissonance by Will Mayo

The sounds of dusk at dawn.
    A loud, wranging sound.
    Dinner table undone
    by falling plates.
    Garbagemen coming and going
    perpetually.
    Drug men, native sons,
    and homeless night owls
    stepping, stepping upon that night.
    An argument raises its voice.
The sun never fails to rise.
And then, too, we never fail to forget.
    Bang the drum slowly.
