Title: Murder in Paharganj
Author: Kulpreet Yadav
Blurb: On a cold December morning, a white woman is found murdered in a cheap hotel in Paharganj, New Delhi.
My View :
Why you read a crime thriller till it's last page? What a stupid question, obviously to know who the murderer is. What if you know the victim, and you know who the murderer is in the first few pages, will you read till the last page or continue to read after that? Kulpreet's latest release 'Murder In Paharganj' introduces you to the murderer in the very first few pages. What holds the reading journey intact is the reason behind the murder. And that's what held me till the last page of the book.
Each of the characters has got a past, and a slight description of their past adds more excitement to the story. There were moments when I was actually afraid to move on to the next page. Kulpreet very cleverly carries the momentum demanded by the time. Pretty sooner one could find completely engrossed in the world he creates for his readers.
It was like a crime thriller movie for me. For the protagonist being Vicks, and Tonya the heroine, I could actually tell you the names of some Bollywood biggies best suited for this script( the biggies I imagined while reading). Okay, done with my imagination Cliff! This is not the first time I've read something of Kulpreet. I've been through his previous works, and one thing I could vouch for his writings he never let me down. I wouldn't want to compare his works, but all I could say is his book is worth the time I spent on each of the words penned by him.
I'm used to discover the murderer at the end. The enigma then the story holds keep me occupied. But, there was something else with this book that kept me hooked. Kulpreet doesn't want to serve the usual stuff. This time he came up with a rather different plot, and I would say an interesting one! I liked the way events turned out and lined up one after other.

Blurb: On a cold December morning, a white woman is found murdered in a cheap hotel in Paharganj, New Delhi.
Vicks Menon, an out-of-work journalist, is tipped off by the hotel’s receptionist and is the first to arrive at the crime scene, where he discovers a lead. It’s the bus ticket used by the dead woman two days earlier. But Vicks is battling personal trouble. He has no money, an alcohol problem, and a nearly broken relationship with Tonya, his estranged live-in partner, a clinical psychologist who specializes in profiling hardened criminals.
Moving in and out of the shadows, Vicks pushes his investigation harder as it takes him from Udaipur to Bangkok. On his side, for resources, he has a nameless intelligence operative, and to read minds, a lover who is beginning to trust him again. But above all, his instinct to stay inches ahead of death will be the key to his survival.
If Vicks lives, this is one story that will change his life forever.
