Rakesh, it has been a great honour to read your life journey. You have so beautifully beaded words of emotion, humour and conviction to give the readers an experience that will last for a lifetime. Taking baby steps from a lonely, uncared child to making long leaps as a man of wisdom and success, you have always raised the bar for yourself, which are the true qualities of a great leader and a wise teacher. Congratulations for the hard work and dedication in writing this beautiful book, which I am sure, will most definitely, touch the hearts of many.

Capt Rakesh Walia's autobiography Broken Crayons Can Still Colour is a highly motivating book and a must-read for the youth who dare to dream big. An extremely absorbing and gripping narrative of his personal life, the book was difficult to put down once I started reading it. Captain, as he is fondly called, has an amazing personality and a pleasant demeanour with no trace of his traumatic childhood experiences. He joined Matrix in December 2006 and has been an asset to Matrix - one that I have come to greatly value.

My Views:

Stories carved from real-life has its own essence and there is some enigma hung to such stories that attract attention. They bring a new sense of involvement and brings excitement to know about someone's journey, and of course, learn from their fall-offs. 'Broken Crayons Can Still Colour'; is an autobiography of a person who has proved himself despite all the hurdles thrown at him. This book is perfect for those who are often noticed crying on their miseries and blaming almighty for targeting him/her for all the miseries, and hence the excuse for not being anything in life.

His words are enough to allow you to imagine a world he had been to. When his hardships turn into success, you could feel the joy of success for him. Success after failures has its own taste and flavour, and his story proves that. With the photos after some chapters of his life makes imagination even better. The most interesting was spotting him in the group photos. His journey is a remarkable one. What all the facets he shared from his life, are good to hear and are encouraging, and I'm sure he will keep on inspiring people around him by crossing all the hurdles. Such souls bring positivity in life, and even being around them can change a lot about yourself and your attitude towards life.

There are so many stories buried deep in the sand of time of fighters who have made it to the top despite having minimal support and a baggage of hardships. 'Broken Crayons Can Still Colour', is an autobiography of a soldier and a Fighter, Captain Takes Walia. His story deserves to be heard and remember during the tough days. Such inspiring real-life stories force one to go beyond their limit, to push oneself every passing second, to reach towards the goal. One has to never lose hope and try harder and harder to achieve what they aim for.

Inspiring and Engaging. A story that can kill all your excuses you made to extend a successful life.
