Title: The De-Evolution Bug
Author: Vaibhav Mukim
Blurb:
Stillwater, Oklahoma is being attacked. By its own inhabitants, who don't seem to be human anymore. They are turning into zombies. A zombie is a well-oiled predator, capable of infecting the population of an entire block in half an hour, a major part of the city in a few hours and the whole city itself in a matter of days. The world is alarmed and America is quarantined for good. What will happen to the Parkers living on Rogers Drive? Will they live to see another day? As thousands lose their lives and identity, turning into monsters, the world fights a crisis like never before. The very existence of humancivilization is questioned. Yet another doubt looms large around The De-evolution Bug – is there something more sinister than zombies on the agenda?

My Views:
There was a time when vampires and zombies had their own hype. Be it movies, TV series or books, all that was thrilling in the world of entertainment was them. But now, a book about zombies! Well, not that sure about the book until it feeds it's readers something different from what the other stories had already fed. This is very theme specific novel crafted for people who still have the yearning to go about Vampires.
There is something amiss in the story-telling, that pulls the reader back and restrain from getting completely engaged in the story. And that something is, linking of his thoughts, the way facets of the story are arranged. When the reader just got hold on to the momentum of the situation, he sweeps out the momentum under the foot and force stacked another one.Characterization doesn't come out the way it should be. The feeling of being in the skin of protagonist is missing from the story. For a few moments, one can have this treasure, but then again the story slips into some other hands, and the frequent change couldn't hold the grasp to make a lasting impact.
One thing I could count in the positives of the book nay author is his writing style. I like the words he has used to deploy his story or thoughts. There was less connectivity, but there was that charm to learn more about his writing style. If I would have read this book like some years back, when people haven't heard of zombies, then I would've gone crazy with the story.
The story is still a good one, but the thing is we are in some way or the other familiar with the plot, especially if we are into Hollywood TV series or movies. You can pick this book if you are interested to read a story on zombies and their evolution.
