- And now as you have entered this world, how do you feel being a member of it?
It feels fantastic; a dream come true kind of feeling.
- What made you think that your book is different from others? What makes your book special that reader should pick it?
You will get motivated form the struggle of a boy from the slum and his not-so-normal journey to become a lawyer. You will get to feel the corrupt Indian politics.
It also portrays a struggle in flood for few days of five people in Kedarnath due to the cloud burst incidence in 2012. It shows how people deal with each other during the ugliest version of life; near death situation.
- While writing this book what were your expectations from the book? Were you sure that this book could give wings to your writing career?
While I was writing I was not sure if I would get published or not. I was just writing a story in a hope that my friends and family would appreciate and then one thing led to another and my writing got published.
- What do you think of writing as a career? What importance does literature plays in your life?
Writing to me is a hobby; the best kind of hobby anyone can ever have. I haven’t thought about writing as a career.
Since my childhood I am fond of stories. Literature shaped my childhood.
- What according to you is the best way to connect to the readers? Words shooting from heart, an extraordinary story or something else?
Story written with words shooting from heart that the readers feel like they are a part of it.
- Now as your debut book arrives in the market, what do you expect from your readers?
My expectation is that the readers will get motivated towards their dream and a few hours of my writing stays in their heart for a long time.
- When you were in the initial phase of the writing journey, what obstacles you faced as a debutant author?
The hardest part was to start. I struggled with initiating every different phase of the story.
- What do you think is the purpose of your writing? What difference does writing makes to your life?
If not writing, then what?
Writing has changed the way I look at things. It has shaped and gave a platform to my imagination.
If not writing, then I would only have continued my career as an engineer.
- Does at any stage you feel like leaving the script in the halfway. Who would you like to give the credit of being a constant supporter?
No! Once I started it, no matter how exhausted I was, I just wanted to complete the whole script. Google and Wikipedia were the constant supporters of every problem.
- What do you usually prefer-pen, typewriter or computer? Computer.
- What are the core qualities an author must possess?
Strong imagination and will power, high patience and ability to handle rejections.
- Every journey teaches us a lesson. What are the lessons you’ve learnt while penning your books?
I have learnt what patience is.
- Tell us about your latest book.
The title is “And the Heart Died”; my debut novel. It is a love story- the love story of a father and a son, a boy and his dream to become a lawyer, a brother and a sister, between strangers stuck in flood at Kedarnath fighting for life, fighting against death, between friends, between a guy who has seen all ugly truths of life and an innocent girl who is willing to risk everything for him.
- Does anyone else write in your family or anyone who loves books?
Yes! My father loves books.
- Tell us about the best compliment you’ve ever received and the criticism given to you as an author.
One of the best compliments I got was from my father. He said that after reading the book there was tears in his eyes and that I had made him proud.
The criticism I received from a friend was about lack of suspense in my writing.
- How much your stories are influenced from real-life stories?

- These days every author wants to come in the list of ‘Best-selling Authors’? What do you think about it?
Being a best seller is a great achievement. It means that a lot of people are appreciating your work.
- Tell us something about your five year goal. Where do you see yourself as a writer in five years?
In five years I see myself writing atleast a half dozen of stories.
- If given an opportunity, would you like to be a full-time writer?
I haven’t thought about it but I love that idea.
- How much time do you take to complete a novel? Is ‘patience’ the keyword to become a successful author?
It took months of irregular writing. It takes a lot of time to plot the story, actually write it and find a publisher. So patience is very important.
- What is the motive of your writing? Does your work fall under some special category?
My motive is to make people smile and be motivated towards their goal.
- Last, but most important question readers would want to know- Are you working on another book? If yes, how different is this from your last work?
Yes! It is quite different from my earlier work. In this, I have portrayed the life of a rape victim and the struggles she has to go through to survive the aftermath.
