Review of Katha Chanakya

Title : Katha Chanakya

Author :  Radhakrishnan Pillai

As the blurb of the book goes: Emperor Chandragupta's beloved teacher, Chanakya had a life that was as fraught with mystery as it was replete with wisdom. His words and actions were meticulously engineered and executed. Chanakya taught the important lessons in life by example and that is exactly what veteran author Radhakrishnan Pillai does through this wonderful book.

Katha Chanakya narrates tales from the great Acharya’s life, and puts into modern context the policies and practices of India’s most strategic dreamer and thinker. Some of these stories are real and some fictional. But all are focused on the welfare of the people, be it the dilemma of choosing a new leader, rooting out corruption or defeating a great enemy. If you have a vision, if you have a dream, Katha Chanakya will help you make it a reality.

My View : Radhakrishnan's latest work definitely is different from his previous works.Albeit, the flow of wisdom and knowledge revolves around Chanakya only, but in a more appealing way, in the form of short and knowledgeable stories.Whenever self-help books come in the form of stories it leaves its impact more magnificently, and that's what I like most about his latest book.

'Stories of Wisdom for Dreamers and Thinkers' ; all the readers who seek to gain wisdom from this book doesn't need to put much efforts to go well with the philosophical thoughts, as one needs to do while going through a self-help book.Stories make it way easy for the readers to understand what the author wants to portray and what the author expects from the readers.

It was also interesting to know some unknown facets of Chanakya's life. Moreover his stories speak of his strengths and his dedication towards his goal. As all the stories are some random facets of Chanakya's life, they are not connected through a single chord. So, it makes an easy ride for the non-readers who can grasp a story a day and work on the teachings at their own pace.

There are some minor typo errors at some places which can be avoided.Apart fro that, this is a great book to gain wisdom to implement in life.
